Tips For Visiting Santa

We have all heard the cheers, haven't we? Santa is coming! Santa is coming!

I used to love that sound. My children are older now so I don't hear that sound anymore. I am looking forward to hearing my grandchildren say them though. BUT! I'm not there yet. I am enjoying the holidays the way they are right now. Sharing my Christmas's with my boys and their girlfriends and family. Watching my family grow is an amazing thing to see and experience. Being able to experience that gives me the chance to enjoy where my boys came from. Tiny Little Tots!

Christmas time was and always will be special in my house, as I'm sure it is in yours. Every family has their own traditions and it is wonderful to be able to share them with new comers. Visiting Santa was always a favorite. As a stay at home mom, I ways tried to save that trip to visit Santa with my husband. After all, visiting Santa for a child is a big event, we wanted to make it special, as should you.

Not every child is ready to see Santa at the same age. One five year old might be eager and ready and can't wait to sit on Santa's lap, while another five year old might be scared and not ready for the experience.

I listed below a short tip sheet I used to help me out when my husband and I took the boys to visit Santa.

Notice number five on my list? Plan To Abort. This is probably the most important out of all of the tips I can give you as a parent. Number 1 is easy, sometimes. Children will ask questions about Santa, and not all questions will you be able to answer. Don't make things up, the truth always comes out. 2) I always tried to visit Santa during non peak hours. It doesn't always work that way though. There were many times when my husband and I took the boys expecting there to be no lines, or at least short lines and unfortunately there were long lines. These were the times when the stuffed animals, toys, snacks, and drinks came in hand. Luckily I don't remember every having to abort a trip to see Santa.

If I believed either of my boys were not ready, or it was just the wrong day. Guess what? We just didn't go. Read your child's ques, they will never set you wrong. Trust your instincts as a parent, your children will help you with the rest.

Enjoy Santa!
